Recent Updates: Course Agent, Referencing and More
These updates are already live in Coursebox. If something looks different in your portal, such as [1] citations in a lesson or a changed course creation page, look for it below.
Course Agent: Create and Edit Courses by Chat
The Course Agent now runs course creation, and can edit whole courses through the AI chat.
What's new
Course creation opens on the What will you create? page, with New course, Chats and Courses in the left panel, plus your recent chats
The Course Agent can edit every course, using course-level AI chat, and your changes show live in the editor
Resize the chat pane by dragging the divider between the chat and the page
Generated courses may look different from before. If a new course reads or is laid out differently from your earlier ones, this is why. Set your preferences in a course setup before you generate. See Create a Course using AI.
Referencing: Citations and a Reference List
Courses can now carry document and web references, shown as numbered citations such as [1] in the text, with a reference list.
What's new
References from your documents and from the web appear as [1] citations, with a reference list
Creators see the citations in the editor. The [1] markers are expected, and are not a fault
References are hidden from learners by default
Creators can turn references on for learners, one course at a time
We plan to keep improving how Referencing works.
Edit any course Permission
Super Admins and Admins who have been given the permission can edit every course on the portal. Super Admins choose who gets it in Settings → Permissions. See Permission settings.
Assignments: Submission Limit
You can set a submission limit per learner. Learners can't resubmit before their work has been marked. See Add an Assignment.
Editable Email Templates
The email templates now open in a full editor with a preview, so you can see how an email looks before you save it. See Email Settings.
Certificates: Editor Updates
The certificate editor has new tools:
Drag layers to reorder them
Use the Position panel to place an element
Add a frame layer
On desktop, the side panels stay pinned open
Custom Domain: Remove a Domain and Confirm the Redirect
You can remove a saved domain
Coursebox asks you to confirm before the redirect to your domain turns on
PayPal: No More Enable Toggle
The Enable PayPal toggle has been removed. PayPal now shows as a payment option whenever your PayPal account is linked. See Managing Payment with Stripe, PayPal or Paystack.
Embed Code Toolbar Button
The editor toolbar has a new </> button for adding embed code to a page.
