AI Credits Explained
Coursebox uses several types of AI credits to power its AI features. This article explains what each one does, how many you get on each plan, and what to do when you run out.

On an earlier plan? Plan names and inclusions changed when we moved to Free, Creator, Pro, Pro + LMS and Enterprise. If you are on an earlier plan such as Plus, Business or standalone LMS, your subscription and its credit allowance continue unchanged. To see your own current balance, go to your profile menu → Payments → My Credits.
The credit types
AI page credits — consumed whenever the AI generates or rewrites course content: pages, lessons, outlines and refinements. This is the most commonly used credit type and covers most AI course-building actions.
AI images — text-to-image generations.
AI tutor messages — each message a learner exchanges with an AI Tutor.
Standard AI video minutes — AI video generated with one of the 500+ built-in avatars.
Custom AI video minutes — AI video generated with your own avatar, created from a person's photo. Available from Pro.
AI text-to-voice minutes — audio narration generated from your written content.
AI Units of Competency — compliant courses generated from a training.gov.au Unit of Competency.
Allowances by plan
Free receives a one-off starter allocation that does not renew. Paid plans renew each month.

Pro and Pro + LMS include the same AI credit allowance. The difference between those two plans is the branded LMS — your own domain, learner and group management, pathways, gamification and advanced reporting — not credits.
Monthly vs yearly billing
On monthly billing, your allowance refreshes each month on your billing date. Unused credits do not roll over.
On yearly billing you receive twelve times the monthly figure, available from day one to use across the year however you like — for example 6,000 AI page credits a year on Creator, and 84,000 on Pro and Pro + LMS. Yearly billing also gives two months free on the plan price.
Extra admin seats add credits too
Every paid plan includes one admin seat. If you add more seats, each additional seat also adds a full AI credit allowance to your account — so two admin seats on Pro means 14,000 AI page credits a month, not 7,000 shared between them.
SCORM imports
Importing an existing SCORM package into Coursebox requires Pro or above and uses a separate allowance: 10 imports a month on Pro and Pro + LMS, and 500 a month on Enterprise. Additional imports can be bought as an add-on pack.
AI Tutors
All paid plans include unlimited AI Tutors — create as many as you like. What is metered is usage, not the number of tutors: each learner message draws on your AI tutor message allowance above.
Will my credits be enough?
A rough way to estimate: every AI-generated lesson page typically uses one AI page credit. So Creator's 500 monthly credits cover about 500 pages of AI-generated content a month — comfortable if you are building one course of 20–30 lessons a month. If you are producing several courses, or constantly regenerating and refining content, Pro's 7,000 is the better fit.
Remember that refinements and rewrites draw on the same allowance as first drafts, so heavy editing uses more than the page count alone suggests.
What if I run out?
You can top up in a couple of minutes:
Click the Upgrade button on the right side of the top bar — it appears on any screen inside your account.
In the popup, you'll see your current plan alongside all plans and add-on packs.
Select the add-on pack you need and follow the prompts to checkout.

If you find yourself regularly hitting limits, upgrading your plan — or switching to annual — is usually better value than buying repeat add-ons.
