How do I add more source material or content to an existing course?

You do not have to rebuild a course from scratch to add new material. Coursebox gives you three ways to add content to a course that already exists, and the best one depends on how much you are adding and whether you want the AI to write it for you.

Method 1: Ask the in-course AI Editor to write it for you

Best for adding to a specific page. Open the course page you want to expand, then click the AI Editor icon (the sparkle) in the top toolbar of that page. The AI Editor chat opens on the right. Describe what you want added or rewritten and it will generate content for that page. Note that the AI Editor works only on the page you are currently editing; it refines and expands existing pages but does not create new sections or pages, and it does not accept uploaded documents.

Method 2: Add sections, pages, or blocks manually

Best when you already know what you want to add and want full control. Open the course in the editor. Use the left-hand panel to add structure: choose Add Section to create a new section, or Add Page to add a page inside a section. To add content within a page, open the page and click the large plus button, then pick a block from the content picker (text blocks, interactions such as flip cards and accordions, or multimedia such as images, videos, slides, downloadable files, embedded PDFs, and SCORM). Edit the block and save. You can reorder anything afterwards by dragging the six-dot handle or using the up and down arrows.

Method 3: Re-generate with new source documents (for large additions)

Best when you have a new document (or several) that should inform a large part of the course. Coursebox generates from source material at the point of course creation, so to fold new documents into existing content, export your current course as a PDF (open the course, then Share, Download, PDF), start a new course with Ask Coursebox, and upload both the exported PDF and your new documents together at the initial prompt. Coursebox will build a fresh course that combines your existing content with the new material. Supported source formats are PDF, Word (.docx, .doc), PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt), and plain text (.txt), up to 50MB per file; you can also add YouTube or web URLs as sources.

Why did the AI only use one of my uploaded documents?

If you upload several documents and the generated course seems to reflect only one of them, it usually comes down to how the material was prompted rather than a lost file. To get the most from multiple sources: keep each file within the supported formats and the 50MB limit so none fail silently; in your prompt, name the documents and say how they should be combined (for example, one module per document); and after generation, use the editor or the AI Editor to fill any gaps from a document that was under-used. If a large amount of a document is clearly missing from the result, contact support at support.coursebox.ai with your course title and the files so the team can take a look.

Which method should I use?

For a quick addition to one page, use the AI Editor (Method 1). To add new sections, pages, or specific blocks yourself, edit the course manually (Method 2). To weave in one or more new documents across the course, re-generate with your exported course plus the new sources (Method 3).
