Coursebox Plans Compared

Coursebox offers six plans, each designed for a different stage of course creation, from trying things out for the first time to running a fully branded learning platform across a large organisation. This article covers what each plan includes, which plan unlocks which feature, and the plan names people ask about that are not actually plans.

For current pricing in your local currency, visit coursebox.ai/pricing. Pricing varies by country and we run promotions from time to time, so the pricing page is always the source of truth.

Five of the six plans are self-serve. Free, Creator, Plus, Pro and Business are bought online by credit card under our standard published terms, and you can cancel any time. Enterprise is different: it is sold only under a signed agreement with a minimum 2-year initial term. If your organisation requires a signed agreement, an MSA, a DPA, an SLA, a vendor security assessment or procurement support of any kind, that is an Enterprise conversation. See Coursebox Enterprise for the full detail.

The plans at a glance

Choosing the right plan

  • Just trying things out? Start on Free.

  • Selling your own courses? Creator, or Plus if you need the credit volume.

  • Need your own branded platform? Pro for a single admin, Business for a team.

  • Running it across an organisation? Business if you are happy to buy self-serve by card, Enterprise if you need a contract.

  • Need SSO, custom hosting, or a migration? Enterprise.

  • Does your procurement or IT team require a signed agreement or a security questionnaire? Enterprise. This is the only plan that supports it.

You can upgrade or downgrade the self-serve plans at any time. Visit coursebox.ai/pricing for the latest pricing and to start a plan. Enterprise is arranged with our team rather than bought online, and is governed by its signed agreement and minimum term.

Upgrade triggers: when to move up a plan

Common reasons people move up, and the plan that unlocks each:

More AI credits without a branded platform

Plus

Your own custom domain and full branding (logos, colours, fonts)

Gamification (badges, leaderboard, pathways) and custom certificates

Pro

Self-hosted SCORM for offline delivery or closed networks

Pro

Multiple admin licences for a team

Business

API access, bring your own chatbot or OpenAI key

Enterprise (contract, 2-year minimum)

A signed agreement, MSA, DPA, SLA, or a completed vendor security questionnaire

Enterprise (contract, 2-year minimum)

Learners

There is no maximum number of learners that can be assigned to a course on Coursebox. All plans support unlimited learners.

Add-ons are not plans

These are optional extras bought on top of a plan. They are never a plan in their own right:

  • Extra admin seats — available on Pro and Business.

  • Branded mobile app — available on Pro and above.

  • Single sign-on (SSO) — Enterprise only.

  • AI credit top-ups — see How to get more AI credits.

Plan names that do not exist

If you have been quoted, or have read about, a Coursebox plan with a name that is not one of the six above, it is either an old name we no longer use, an add-on, or a name that has never existed at Coursebox. Here are the ones people ask about most.

Name asked about

What it usually means

Standard

No such plan. Usually a generic assumption carried over from other software. Most people describing a “standard” setup want Creator or Pro.

Basic

No such plan. Usually Free or Creator.

Premium

No such plan. Older Coursebox documentation used “Branded Training Platform (Premium)” to mean the branded portal, which today is Pro, Business and Enterprise.

LMS, Creator LMS, Business LMS, Enterprise LMS

Not plan names. “LMS” is the product, not a tier. Creator-LMS is a legacy billing code that may still appear on older invoices for what is now the Pro plan.

Starter, Business Starter

Retired name. What was called Business Starter is now Pro.

Team, Growth

No such plans. A team that needs several admins wants Business.

Can’t find the plan name you were given?

Check your invoice or the Manage Account screen for the exact wording, then match it against the legacy table above. If it still does not match anything here, email support@coursebox.ai with the name and where you saw it, and we will tell you which current plan it corresponds to.

It helps to tell us what you are trying to do — how many people will be creating and managing courses, whether you need your own branded platform, and roughly how many learners — so we can point you to the right plan rather than just the closest name.
