Can I create Assignments using AI?

Yes. When you add an Assignment block, choose AI Assignment Writer and Coursebox AI writes the assignment for you: a title, the instructions and a marking rubric. You can also write it yourself.

Create an assignment with AI

1. Click + Add block and choose Assignment from the Assessments column.

2. Under Assignment type, click AI Assignment Writer.

3. The Write Assignment with AI window opens. Leave Use Course Content on to base the assignment on your course.

4. In Describe what you want to write about, describe the task, for example "Write a scenario-based assignment based on my course content."

5. Set the Words count.

6. Click Write the assignment.

Coursebox AI adds a title and the instructions at the top of the Assignment block, and a rubric under How this is marked, with each Criterion, its Weight and What a full score looks like. The weights add up to 100%.

Review and edit the generated text and rubric before you publish the course. New assignments are marked by AI straight away (AI marks instantly). To change who marks it or the pass mark, click the gear icon on the block. See Add an Assignment.

To rewrite the assignment with AI later, use the AI Editor (the sparkle icon in the top toolbar).

Write the assignment yourself

Under Assignment type, choose Rubric assignment, Short-answer question or Competency checklist and write your own instructions. In the Write Assignment with AI window, you can also turn on Manually write assignment to skip the AI.
