Can I build a course manually instead of using AI?

Yes. You can build a course from scratch without AI, and add every section, page and block yourself.

Start a course manually

1. Click Create (the + icon) at the top of the left menu.

2. On the What will you create? page, click + in the prompt box and choose Create manually.

Add the title and description

The new course opens on its About page.

1. Click Insert a title... and type the course title.

2. In the box below it, describe the course: what it covers, who it's for and what learners will be able to do.

3. Click Save. To discard the course instead, click Cancel and Delete draft.

Add course objectives and skills

• Course Objectives: click the pencil icon next to it and list what learners will be able to do by the end.

• Skills and Knowledge: click the pencil icon, type a skill, for example "Manual handling", and click Add. Repeat for each skill, then click Save. To remove a skill, click the × on it.

Build the course content

1. Click Edit Course at the top of the About page.

2. The course starts with one section, 1. Overview, and one page, 1.1 Introduction. Click Add Page under a section to add a page, or Add Section at the bottom of the outline.

3. To add content to an empty page, click Add block (the + icon) in the top toolbar and choose a block. Once the page has a block, you can also click + Add block between blocks.
